SIU was established on September 24, 1993.

The learning process includes:

The main scientific directions of SIU:

• theory and practice of functioning and development of the public administration system in modern society: regional aspect,
• social and humanitarian policy of the region: conceptual principles of formation and implementation,
• economic mechanisms of state management of the processes of modernization of the regional economy,
• legal aspects of ensuring the effectiveness of public administration and local self-government,
• modern aspects of the development of public administration and local self-government at the regional level.

CSC conducts international cooperation with the following organizations:

• Francisk Skaryna Gomel State University,
• Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus.

SIU provides 3 dormitories with 342 beds. The cost of living ranges from 492 to 1037 rubles per month.

For meals for students and staff, the Institute has 2 buffets and 2 canteens.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, SIU RANEPA organizes and participates in the following events:

The educational process of SIU is carried out in 6 educational and administrative buildings. The buildings house bright classrooms, computer classes, classrooms and conference rooms. The classrooms are equipped with modern computer and multimedia equipment, there is portable equipment: laptops, projectors, audio systems. Students have free access to 2 libraries with a reading room.

At SIU, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).
