British School Bahrain — a private school with a British education system, offering education for children aged 3 to 18. For 30 years, British School Bahrain has maintained a high level of education and adheres to international standards. At British School Bahrain, education is built on the National Curriculum of England and is adapted to the international environment of the British education system. All classes are conducted in English; Arabic is a compulsory subject and is taught taking into account the language level of children and teenagers. The school maintains a respectful and open atmosphere where different cultures, religions and traditions are valued.

From Year 7, students become part of a unified school community. In Years 10–11, the GCSE, IGCSE and BTEC programmes are available, helping students choose an academic or applied pathway and obtain international qualifications. In the Sixth Form, students continue their studies through the A-level programme; at the end of their studies, senior students sit official international examinations and prepare for entry to universities or colleges.

From an early age, students are assigned to one of four Houses: Dragon, Griffin, Pegasus and Phoenix. Siblings are always placed in the same House.

The British School Bahrain uniform is sold at the on-campus store of the same name. As a precaution, staff ask parents to label children's belongings with their name and class.

At British School Bahrain, special attention is paid to healthy and balanced nutrition: every day the school canteen offers students and staff a varied menu of wholesome and nutritious dishes; children and teenagers may bring food from home. All food is prepared/brought in nut-free, and parents are asked to notify the school in advance of any allergies or dietary restrictions their children may have.

Students at British School Bahrain have access to extracurricular activities in acting, music, sports, and debate. There are programs for a wide variety of interests: from fine arts and Arabic calligraphy to football and volleyball, with robotics, photography, and sustainability clubs also available.

The sports program includes around 30 sports, 32 teams, and 100+ matches, helping to develop talent and team spirit. Students also actively participate in community projects, including charitable initiatives. Most clubs are available free of charge.

British School Bahrain is located on a purpose-built single campus near the capital of Bahrain, divided into 3 sections: primary, junior, and senior schools. Each is overseen by a head of year, while overall management is handled by the principal. The campus creates a modern and comfortable environment where students can develop their abilities: spacious classrooms with interactive whiteboards and multifunctional equipment, areas for individual and group work, a combination of traditional and digital learning resources. The library offers books in English, French, Arabic, and Spanish. Laboratories and art studios provide opportunities for research, experimentation, and creativity. A spacious lobby and well-designed infrastructure make the school environment convenient and vibrant.

Sports areas support an active extracurricular life: basketball courts, an artificial-turf football field, and play and socialising zones suitable for students of all ages.

A new campus is opening in the 2026/2027 academic year: it is located next to the current buildings and is designed for students in grades 10–13. The project was created in collaboration with international educational consultants and the architectural firm MSCEB. The space includes modern classrooms, a dedicated sixth-form centre with study and meeting areas, a library and research spaces, and 8 science laboratories. The Inspired AI platform is being prepared for personalised learning. The sports infrastructure of this campus includes a full-size FIFA football pitch, a 25-metre, 8-lane swimming pool, an eight-lane athletics track, covered padel tennis and tennis courts, several sports halls and courts for team sports. For creative pursuits, there is an acoustic hall seating 500+, 2 theatres, music classrooms, 12 rehearsal rooms and fine art studios, as well as a multifunctional hall for events and presentations.

At British School Bahrain, the academic year begins at the end of August and ends at the end of June. In the autumn term there is a mini-break at the end of October, a long holiday planned for the New Year and Christmas celebrations, and then — in summer.

Admission to British School Bahrain takes place in several stages.

1. Registration

An online application is filled out and documents are submitted. For admission to Sixth Form from non-British schools, a certificate of alternative qualifications is required. The registration fee is paid.

2. Assessment

Testing is conducted by age: younger students are assessed for school readiness, English, and social skills; in the first two years, mathematics and English tests are added; from the third year onwards — an online exam (mathematics, English, non-verbal reasoning, and writing).

3. Enrollment

After successful selection, a PSA agreement is signed, the fee and textbook deposit are paid, and final enrollment takes place after all documents have been submitted and tuition has been paid.

4. Start of studies

Students are introduced to their class teacher and team. The first term is considered an adaptation period and is accompanied by additional support.

The application process may be handled through the admissions department, which helps families go through all the stages and navigate the requirements, especially when relocating from other countries.

British School Bahrain demonstrates strong academic results. In 2024, senior students became leaders in A-level results in Bahrain for the fifth consecutive year, consistently achieving high performance in science, mathematics, arts and humanities. 2024 results: 20% A* grades, 46% A*–A, 69% A*–B.

Graduates gain admission to leading universities worldwide: approximately 90% into their chosen institutions, and one in three into Russell Group and Ivy League universities. Admissions support is provided through Inspired's partnership with consultants Arete Education and The Classroom Door from the UK and the US.

At British School Bahrain, the application is accompanied by a standard registration fee, as in other private schools in Bahrain.

To process the application, the following set of documents must be provided:

• vaccination record of the prospective student,

• school report/transcript (if available),
• transfer document from the previous school (if available).
