Description of Babel Academy of English

Babel Academy of English is a world-class English language school in Dublin city centre. All year round we offer adult courses and school groups packages. We also run an Irish Summer School for teenagers with engaging classes and an exciting activity program.

Educational process

Classes are limited to a maximum of 15 students, ensuring individual attention and steady progress. Courses are taught by qualified, experienced teachers who use interactive methods and real-life situation-based learning (communicative methodology).

Before the course begins, students take a level placement test and then gain access to the GELnet digital platform, which tracks progress, offers a personalized learning plan, and extends learning beyond the classroom. The app provides a personal dashboard with information on lessons and attendance, daily and weekly learning goals set by the teacher, study materials, and personalized learning recommendations. Digital content is prepared by Oxford University Press. Every 6 weeks, a free one-on-one progress review meeting is held to set goals and personalize the study plan, and regular progress checks are accompanied by teacher feedback.

Upon completing the course, students receive a certificate as well as access to student support and accommodation advisory services. The school team provides multilingual support, visa assistance, and a 24-hour emergency phone line. Monthly CV-writing workshops are held, and twice a month the Jobs Club meets to offer help with CVs and job searching, interview practice, and guidance on the Irish job market from experienced school staff.

For the English for Specific Purposes course, a needs assessment with an academic manager is conducted before the start — covering language level, goals, and the optimal study schedule. The assessment can also be completed online. Upon completion of the course, students receive a certificate and individual feedback.
