ACS Hillingdon International School maintains a day-long form of education and offers balanced and effective curriculum programs for children from all over the world, both international standard (IB) and classical American (Advanced Placement). At a school that is comfortably located in London, children from 4 to 18 years old can study - today representatives of more than 50 nationalities are studied here!
ACS Hillingdon International School strives to develop all the abilities and talents of students, regardless of the sphere in which they manifest themselves. Individual approach to each student makes it possible, if necessary, to adjust the curriculum, to pay personal attention to everyone, to carefully monitor all successes and difficulties.
The entire school is divided into 3 departments:
The curriculum includes mainly the following programs:
The fact that in high school students can choose for themselves the educational program is very important. It not only provides an opportunity to prepare for the chosen university in any country of the world, but also educates students as individuals who are ready to make personal choices and be responsible for their decisions.
For middle-class students, the IB Middle Years Program was developed. A special course for pupils of grades 6-10 is not a separate educational course, but an effective addition to the main chosen program, aimed at developing a philosophical, holistic, interdisciplinary approach to learning.
For foreign students, the support course "English as a Foreign Language" (EAL) is offered. These are classes in small groups with specially accredited specialists, aimed at the overall development of all key language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. After the completion of an additional intensive course, foreign students can study together with their peers only on the main course.
The IB Diploma program is aimed at pupils of 11-13 grades. This is both a secondary education course for high school students, and effective preparation for the selected university: the IB certificate is highly valued all over the world extremely high, so it does not limit graduates in choosing a priority university.
In addition to the subjects chosen for study, students also attend several compulsory additional courses:
The course is designed for high school students (11-13 grades), corresponding to the American national standards of secondary education. The program is quite complex and intensive: subjects are studied deeply and thoroughly, therefore, the AP certificate is valued so highly. Students can choose priority disciplines for themselves, after consulting with the curator and teachers. As a rule, at this stage, students already represent a priority university, faculty and specialty, so it makes sense to pay close attention to the most priority subjects, the study of which will continue at the university.
ACS Hillingdon International School only offers a full-time form of study - there are no places for students in the residence. With the help of our manager and the school placement department, you can find a suitable host family: a lot of houses of decent and trusted citizens are located within walking distance, and for more remote areas a regular school bus is provided.
There is a spacious common dining area on the school grounds (lunches are offered at an additional cost): schoolchildren receive a balanced meal, all meals are prepared exclusively from local, fresh and healthy foods.
Sport is an integral part of student life - starting from grade 6, students are practicing almost daily: both in the general curriculum and visiting optional sections. Individual and group studying are provided. The necessary infrastructure is available both on campus and outside the campus within walking distance:
The most popular types of activity among students are kickboxing, dancing various directions, basketball, football, tennis and gymnastics. The large sports club Booster provides children with general fitness and physical studying. Successful pupils can participate in the activities of school teams, perform at regional, national and even European competitions.
The creative part of extracurricular activities is also very developed and diverse - each student will find a lesson for himself:
Senior students can compete for the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Prize - a similar item (and especially one of three prizes) will be a positive line in the university admission application.
There are regular excursions, exciting trips and walks, hikes: for foreign students this is the best opportunity to get acquainted with the traditions, history and culture of Great Britain.
