Z. Ismagilov State Museum of Music was founded on June 5, 1968 on the basis of the educational and consulting center of the Gnessin State Music and Pedagogical Institute (now the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music) that functioned in Ufa. Z. Ismagilov UGII is the only higher educational institution of the Republic of Bashkortostan that produces professional personnel in the field of musical, theatrical, choreographic and fine arts.

The student hostel is located in a 9-12-storey building, consisting of 5 blocks, with a ground floor, a basement and an attic.

In the hostel there are:

The main educational building houses music faculties. The building of the main building of the Institute is an architectural monument of federal significance - "The Building of the Noble Assembly".

The second educational building is intended for the Theater Faculty and the Faculty of Fine Arts, located in the building-monument of regional significance "Ovchinnikova Progymnasium".

All premises of the Institute are equipped with furniture, computers and necessary office equipment.

The Institute has a sports complex with a large gaming sports and gym, locker rooms.

The academic year begins on September 1 and is divided into two semesters, each of which ends with a test-examination session in accordance with the curriculum of the relevant educational program.
