Currently, the Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies is a modern actively developing, innovative scientific and educational complex of continuing education with a developed network of representative offices, training specialists and conducting scientific research in Russia and abroad.

Over the years, SSUGiT has established 4 research institutes, which:

The structure of research institutes represented in SSUGiT includes 17 scientific schools and more than 40 scientific and scientific-educational laboratories and centers. In them, under the guidance of leading scientists - doctors of science, numerous promising research and development are carried out in more than 30 scientific areas and in 5 branches of science. These scientific schools are focused on the priority areas of development of science, technology and engineering.

Rector of SSUGiT, Professor and Doctor of Technical Sciences - Karpik A.P., is a full member of the International Academy of Sciences of Higher Education, was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the city for his great contribution to the development of the scientific, technical and educational complex of the city of Novosibirsk, the Certificate of Honor of the Novosibirsk Region for special contribution to the socio-economic development of the region, high production and professional achievements, numerous distinctions and is Laureate of the State Prize of the Novosibirsk Region.

SSUGiT has two campuses, the settlement of which takes place at the end of August. To stay in dormitories, applicants need to conclude a contract for renting a dwelling, a contract for the provision of additional services. The student has the right to choose the campus. When checking into the hostel, you must have with you: an identity document; medical certificate (form 086-U); 1 photo (3x4) in electronic form for registration of the pass.

Also on the basis of SSUGiT there are places for meals: a dining room, a cafe for employees and students, a cafe of the laboratory building and a buffet.

On the basis of the university, the SSUGiT Project was created, within the framework of which students are offered:

• Lectures and practical classes;
• Open lessons in natural science disciplines;
• Classes in scientific, technical and applied circles or sections of SSUGiT;
• Olympiads and competitions for schoolchildren held at SSUGiT;
• Excursion week "World of professions of SSUGiT";
• Excursions to specialized enterprises and organizations for SSUGiT.

Traditionally, SSUGiT holds a "Summer School for Compatriots", which includes lectures and practical classes in general education subjects, lectures on astronomy at the Training Center "Planetarium of SSUGiT", a cultural and entertainment program. The summer school program is aimed at compatriots living abroad, providing them with all the necessary methodological aids, providing free meals and accommodation. Following the results of the school, all students receive a certificate of participation and a proposal for the possibility of studying at SSUGiT.

SSUGiT is equipped with laboratories of geoinformation mapping, thematic mapping, virtual and augmented reality. There is a multimedia-full-scale educational physical laboratory of optics and quantum physics, an educational and scientific laboratory of information technologies in geo- and bioecologists, centers of engineering and robotics, an educational and scientific center "Planetarium", etc.

Also at the university there is a library, an indoor sports ground, a sports hall, an open stadium of a wide profile with elements of an obstacle course.   

The full-time academic year begins on September 1 and consists of two semesters.

The University offers pupils of 11 grades paid preparatory courses for the Unified State Exam in the following subjects:

• Mathematics;
• Russian;
• Informatics;
• Physics.

The terms of training are from October 3 to April 30 (7 months).

Classes are held once a week on the subject, depending on the schedule, in a group of 15 people.

The list of documents required for submission to the university:

• Consent to the processing and transfer of personal data;
• Application;
• Identity document, citizenship (original and copy);
• Insurance certificate of compulsory pension insurance;
• Document on education with an appendix (original and copy);
• Documents confirming special rights (if any);
• Documents on individual achievements (if any);
• Agreement on targeted training (if necessary);
• Medical certificate with the conclusions of the following specialists: therapist, neurologist, ophthalmologist, surgeon, otolaryngologist, dentist, dermatologist (upon admission to the specialty "Mining");
• Consent to enrollment.

Terms of the admission campaign (for bachelor's and specialist's programs of full-time education):

• the start of accepting the application and the documents attached to it is June 20;
• completion of the reception of documents from persons entering the training with the passage of entrance tests conducted by SSUGiT independently - July 19;
• completion of the reception of documents from persons entering the training without passing the entrance tests conducted by the SSUGiT independently (as well as for applicants without entrance tests) - July 25; 
• completion of the entrance examinations conducted by SSUGiT independently - July 25.

The timing of the entrance examinations conducted by SSUGiT independently:

• for those entering the field budget - from July 1 to July 25;
• for applicants on a paid basis - from July 1 to August 15.

Statistics of admission to SSUGiT as of the 2021/2022 academic year:

• 526 people in the areas of bachelor's and specialist's degree of full-time form;
• 86 people in the areas of bachelor's and master's degrees of full-time and part-time form;
• 341 people in the areas of bachelor's and specialist's degree of correspondence form;
• 130 people on the directions of the master's program of full-time form;
• 41 people on the directions of the master's program of correspondence form.

On the basis of SSUGiT there is a Center for the Promotion of Student Youth Employment and Employment of Graduates (CSUZUmiTV), which actively interacts with the Department of Labor and Employment of the Population in the city and the region, providing students with all the necessary information about the situation on the labor market and employment prospects in certain specialties, conducts postgraduate support for graduates.

Also, the university interacts with the employment centers of Novosibirsk and Tomsk, regularly posting on its website offers for internship in various areas, current vacancies of the employment center.

Persons with an appropriate level of education, which is confirmed by a document on secondary general, secondary vocational or higher education and on qualifications, are allowed to master academic disciplines.

Admission to the university is carried out on a competitive basis - on the basis of the results of the Unified State Exam (except for persons eligible for admission without entrance examinations), which are equated with the result of entrance examinations and (or) according to the results of entrance examinations that SSUGiT conducts independently.

SSUGiT provides students with the following types of scholarships:

• scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation and special state scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation; 
• a scholarship of the Government of the Novosibirsk Region and a scholarship of the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region named after K.L. Provorov, the Mayor's Office of Novosibirsk;
• state scholarship for postgraduate and doctoral students; 
• state academic scholarship; 
• state social scholarship; 
• personal scholarship; 
• state scholarship for persons who have completed military service.

Measures of social support provided by the university:

• allocation of funds for assistance to needy full-time students in the amount of 25% of the scholarship fund;
• one-time material assistance on a personal application addressed to the rector;
• an annual allowance for the purchase of educational literature and writing materials for persons from among orphans and full-time children left without parental care;
• scholarship within the resources of the scholarship fund and extension of the period of study for postgraduate and doctoral students studying full-time, due to illness lasting more than one month (if there is an appropriate medical opinion);
• social support agreed by the united trade union organization, depending on the financial situation of the student.
