The NArFU branch in the city of Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Region, was founded in 1999.

The process of education at the university is based on three institutes:

• shipbuilding and marine Arctic equipment;
• humanitarian;
• advanced education.

Also, a technical college successfully operates at NArFU.

Students and employees of NArFU often participate in scientific expeditions to study the Arctic regions of Russia.

For nonresident students and postgraduates of full-time education, the university provides 3 dormitories.

The organization of meals for students and employees takes place in the canteen.

The educational process of the university takes place in a single building, equipped with new lecture and seminar classrooms. All classrooms are equipped with a modern material and technical base, including projectors, screens, computers, laptops, audio-video systems. 

All students have free access to the library, the total fund of which is more than 330,000 units, 138 places for work.

The academic year at the NArFU branch is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after which students are given holidays (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

When studying at the university, students assume the following additional costs:

For admission to it is necessary to provide:

• Successful passing of entrance tests, the scores for which the university sets independently:

  • Portfolio evaluation.

For admission to postgraduate programs it is necessary:

• Completed higher education;
• Successful passing of entrance tests, the minimum scores for which are set by the university independently.

As a material support for students, the university allocates the following scholarships for students:

• State Academic;
• State social;
• Scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation;
• Scholarships of the Government of the Russian Federation;
• Scholarship of the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region;
• Scholarship of the Head of Severodvinsk;
