Ilek school №2 began its history in its present form in 1977 - until that time, the school taught students only up to the eighth grade. Over the entire period of its existence, this educational institution has produced more than 15 gold medalists and about 140 graduates with a silver medal.
Ilek Secondary School No. 2 is the base for regional seminars and competitions.

Outside of school hours, pupils of school №2 participate in the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren and attend events organized in the school library. Most often, class hours are devoted to the study of the Orenburg region.
