The university was founded in 1918 in the city of Ivanovo. The university is engaged in the training of specialists with bachelor's, specialist's, master's and postgraduate qualifications in both technical and humanitarian fields.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, educational and pre-diploma practice.

The famous academician Anatoly Ivanovich Maltsev, laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, and an outstanding Soviet mathematician, worked at IvSU.

The university provides 3 dormitories for nonresident full-time students.

For meals for students and staff, the university has two canteens and one buffet (125 seats).

To involve students in social activities, the university organizes and takes part in the following events:

The education process takes place in 4 buildings, equipped with classrooms for lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes. The classrooms have the necessary               equipment: screens, projectors, computers and audio systems. 

Students are given free access to two scientific and educational libraries of IvSU. The capacity of the reading rooms is 172 seats.

For sports, the university has the following facilities:

At IvSU, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

To enter the university, you must provide:

• State-recognized certificate of education and qualifications;

• 4 photos 3x4 (color).

The necessary package of documents is provided to the university:

At the moment, the number of undergraduate and graduate students is more than 8 thousand people.

After graduating from the university, the IvSU Career Center operates at the university to facilitate the search for work for graduates.

For admission to bachelor's and specialist's educational programs, an applicant must:
