The Polytechnic University was founded in 1981. At the moment, the university educates specialists mainly in the textile and construction sectors.

The educational process of IvSPU is based on the following faculties and institutes:

The university participated in such major events as the International Scientific and Practical Forum SMARTEX and the International Scientific and Technical Conference "Information Environment of the University".The scientific journal published by IvGTU is included in the international database Scopus.

For nonresident full-time students, the university provides a campus consisting of six dormitories; the total number of residential places is 808.

For the organization of meals for students and employees of the university, the university provides 3 canteens and a buffet, the total number of seats is 600.

For the diversity of student life at the university there are the following associations:

• A large number of sports sections.

The learning process takes place in 4 buildings, which are equipped with classrooms for lectures, practical and laboratory classes. All rooms are equipped with a modern material and technical base: screens, projectors, computers and audio system. There are also auditoriums in which there are podiums for the display of clothes, students have access to two libraries with 210 seats.

For sports, IvSPU provides 4 sports facilities, which include physical culture and sports halls, strength halls and an open stadium.

In IvSPU, the learning process in the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after which students are given holidays (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

When studying at the university, students assume the following additional costs:

For admission to IvSPU, the applicant must provide the following list of documents:

• If it is necessary to create special conditions when passing internal entrance tests - a document confirming disability;

• Documents confirming individual achievements, the results of which are taken into account at the reception;
• Diploma of the winner or prize-winner of the Olympiad (if any).

The documents that are necessary for admission are sent to the university in one of the following ways:

According to the results of the admission campaign of 2022, more than 300 people entered the Bachelor's and Specialist's programs at IvSPU. At the moment, about 5,000 students study at the university.

For admission to postgraduate programs it is necessary:

• Successful passing of entrance tests, the minimum scores for which the university sets itself:
  • Special discipline;
  • Philosophy;
  • Foreign language.

For material support of its students, the university provides the following types of scholarships:
