Founded in 1954, the Private School of the Institut Schloß Wittgenstein Institute includes a junior, middle, high school. The hostel is open to German citizens and foreign students. Institut Schloß Wittgenstein has children and adolescents from different countries. They choose the school due to the high-quality academic preparation of the students, intensity of the extra-curricular program. for the attention of international students of all ages is offered a wide range of optional classes. Children are available sports, creativity, games (from intellectual to adventure), much more.

A distinctive feature of the German school is the specific approach to teaching children. For each foreign student here is developed not just an educational program, but a development strategy.

Teaching is conducted in German.

Each boarding student has at least one mentor with pedagogical training who supports them in daily life. Realschule uses subject-specific classrooms, so students move among the teachers' individually designed rooms.

During the two-day MINT on Tour project, Grade 7 participants worked with students from Universität Siegen to build a heating pad, an electric motor, a galvanic cell, and a rubber-band-powered vehicle.

Schloß Wittgenstein consists of:

During its first 65 years, at least 3500 students graduated from Realschule Schloss Wittgenstein. In 2022, 48 students at Gymnasium Schloss Wittgenstein passed the Abitur, and the highest final grade was 1.1.

• When the school first opened, only boys studied and boarded there: 120 boarders were divided among five classes,
• Girls were first admitted in 1966,
• Since 1974, Realschule Schloss Wittgenstein has admitted day students who do not live at the boarding school,
• The inclusion project Miteinander – Füreinander was introduced at Gymnasium Schloss Wittgenstein more than 30 years ago,
• Most of the proceeds from the school's Christmas raffle traditionally go to charity.

International students can attend this German boarding school. Children and teenagers live in an on-campus residence with space for 80 residents. Accommodations include 3-4-person rooms with shared facilities on the floor, as well as single and double options with a private bathroom and shower.

Boarding students live in small groups organized by age. On request, a student may keep their own horse in the school's stable.

The school offers chess, cooking, and information technology clubs, a young scientists' association, and other interest groups. Students take part in sports, theater, music, and jazz dance, sing in the choir, and learn the basics of law.

Gymnasium Schloss Wittgenstein has a school music group and offers lessons on a range of instruments. Members of Technik-AG work on projects such as model railroads and audiovisual equipment. The Gymnasium also offers a rhetoric course and weekly running practice. Since 1997, Gymnasium Schloss Wittgenstein has held a St. Nicholas Day soccer tournament, now a regular part of the school's activities.

Institut Schloß Wittgenstein occupies a medieval castle surrounded by forests. The campus combines historic buildings with preserved interiors and modern academic and athletic facilities. The grounds include an equestrian center, playgrounds, and tennis courts. The academic buildings host elective classes after the school day and have the infrastructure needed for club activities.

Students have access to a library, a computer center, several laboratories, a conference hall, and a spacious dining hall. Wi-Fi is available throughout campus.

The equestrian facilities include an indoor riding arena, a show-jumping area, an obstacle course, and an oval track.

The educational process is divided into two semesters (beginning in September and in February).

Classes begin at 7.40 in the morning. Weekends are Saturday and Sunday. For public holidays and vacations, the boarding house is closed.
