Hanyang University is a private research university in South Korea. The main campus is in Seoul, and the second, the Education Research Industry Cluster, or ERICA Campus, is located in Ansan. The name "Hanyang" (한양; происходит) comes from the former name of the capital city of Seoul, which was used during the Chosun Dynasty. His motto and educational philosophy: "Love in deed and truth."

In 1939, the university founded the country's first engineering institute (DongA Engineering Institute), which became the founding of Hanyang University, as well as the first school of architecture and civil engineering in Korea.
