Gymnasium No. 622 was built in 1992, and in 1998 it was awarded the title of gymnasium. Throughout its history, gymnasium No. 622 has been participating in school competitions, winning prizes.
In 2020, the school's mini-football team became the champion of St. Petersburg. In the same year, 17 gold medalists graduated from the school, 3 of which received 100 points when passing the exam.

Students of gymnasium No. 622 participate and win prizes in the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, in sports competitions and when passing the GTO standards.
Classes in the school building are fully equipped with the necessary subjects and materials for teaching. The school has a sports complex that includes two swimming pools, three gyms, an obstacle course and a stadium.
Also, the school has organized a room - a shooting range for training targetless shooting. Shooting simulators are completely safe and mobile, which allows training to be deployed to away competitions.
Gymnasium №622 teaches students in the first shift. Primary and secondary school (grades 1-9) have 5 school days (Monday – Friday), and high school (10-11) have 6 school days.
The duration of one lesson is 45 minutes.
