VEGU has been operating for 30 years. During this time, the university has established itself as the largest scientific and educational center of the Russian Federation, has become one of the leading universities in the Russian Federation in terms of the quality of personnel education, entered the top ten universities in the country in the field of electronic technologies used in teaching, entered the list of the best educational institutions of the Russian Federation.

To date, VEGU provides admission to undergraduate programs in full-time, part-time and part-time forms of education, including the use of distance technologies.

ALSO, VEGU actively cooperates with the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the academy's employees work in various fields, especially on the development of electronic education in the republic.

The Academy publishes the journal "Vestnik VEGU", which has a scientific orientation and an international standard number. The journal is included in the List of the Higher Attestation Commission. The works published at the university are laureates and winners of Russian and international competitions. 

Also within the walls of the university there is a Regional Department of Military Sciences, which provides a wider range of choice of spheres for scientific activities.

Students of the Academy participate in many forums and competitions, their merits are proudly published by VEGU on the official website of the university.

For all those interested in obtaining higher education, an Open Day is held at the Academy.

Also on the basis of the academy there is a studio of artistic creativity of children and adults "Blue Pyramid", which received its name thanks to the hero of the fantastic story by Ray Bradbury "And yet ours". Following this story, the teachers of the studio see and appreciate the individuality of the student and his ability to creatively reflect reality.

Timing of the admission campaign:

• the beginning of the reception of documents — June 20;
• completion of the reception of documents from applicants with the passage of additional entrance tests of creative and professional orientation and from applicants with the passage of internal entrance tests - August 25;
• completion of the reception of documents from applicants without passing internal entrance tests and from applicants without entrance tests - August 25;
• the completion of internal entrance tests and the completion of the reception of documents - August 27.

The number of VEGU students is 2857 people, of which 33 are foreigners.

As of 2021-2022, out of 615 graduates, 589 are employed.

Over the years, more than 60,000 people have been educated and graduated.

VEGU is considered the best non-state university in the Russian Federation for the educaiton of sought-after personnel, has a certificate certifying that the education of personnel meets the high requirements among entrepreneurs of the Russian Federation. In addition, every year the university successfully monitors the effectiveness of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The Academy promotes the employment of graduates and senior students, actively cooperating with employers and Employment Promotion Centers, conducts the following activities:

• informing students and graduates of the Academy about holding Job Fairs;
• posting information about current vacancies;
• organization of Career Days at VEGU, invitation of employers and students for mutual communication, conducting master classes on employment;
• conclusion of cooperation agreements with employers, assistance in employment in the presence of vacancies.

The programs are designed for applicants with secondary general, secondary vocational or higher education.

Admission to the Academy is carried out on the basis of the results of the Unified State Exam or on the basis of the results of internal entrance tests - passing scores:

• Social Studies — 45.

Every year, students who have shown success in their studies are awarded a scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation. 

The university also won a number of grants thanks to assistance in the development of a program for the advanced education of civil servants.
