VSSUTU is the largest university in the Far East and Siberia, it is a popular educational and scientific complex with a modern material and technical base. VSUTU graduates are highly qualified specialists in the field of mechanical engineering, economics and food industry.

The structure of VSSUTU includes a technological college, 5 faculties and 3 institutes.

Scientific achievements
VSSUTU participates in the program of the interregional scientific and educational center (REC) "Baikal". Young scientists of VSSUTU became named scholarship holders of the REC "Baikal".
The university has created an innovation belt of 12 educational, scientific and production complexes (UNPC) and 9 small innovative enterprises (MIP).
A periodical scientific journal "Vestnik VSSUTU" is published. Periodicity - one issue per quarter. The electronic journal "Economic Bulletin of VSSUTU" is published.
Things to know about
In 2021, VSSUTU signed an Agreement on Academic Mobility with Uşak University (Turkey).
In the 2020/2021 academic year, about 170 foreign students from Mongolia, China, Vietnam, the Republic of Korea and the CIS countries studied at the university.

Nonresident and foreign students are allocated a place in the hostel on a first-come, first-served basis. Dormitories on campus have a housing stock of 1332 beds. In the dormitories of VSSUTU all conditions for life, study and recreation are created, the hostels are equipped with video surveillance systems, security and fire alarm systems.
Kitchens are equipped for self-catering. In addition, meals for students during their studies are provided in the canteens of VSSUTU.

Educational buildings of VSSUTU are located in the Sovetsky and Oktyabrsky districts of Ulan-Ude. It is easy to get to each academic building by public transport.

Admission dates and extra charges
The academic year at VSSUTU begins on September 1 and ends according to the schedule of the educational process. One course consists of two semesters and two intermediate examination sessions.
Holidays during one academic year are 7-10 weeks in duration, excluding holidays.

The beginning of the reception of documents for admission to vsSUTU is March 1 of this year, the last day of accepting documents is July 25.
Enrollment is carried out in 2 stages:
- Priority enrollment - enrollment of persons entering without entrance tests, entering the field within the quotas;
- The main stage is the enrollment of persons entering the main places within the control figures based on the results of entrance tests.
What is required for admission:
- identity document, citizenship (passport);
- a document of the established sample on education or on education and qualifications (certificate or diploma);

- 1 photograph (3x4 cm);
