Primary school

The WillowWood Foundation program teaches children in grades 1-2 and is an intensive, personalized early learning program. The program includes lessons in language, mathematics, science, social sciences. Students are often tested through observation and informal assessment in order to adjust the personalization of teaching methods, to identify the strengths of the students.

The small groups, deep individualization of the Foundation program provide a flexible learning pace.

Students who pass the Foundation program easily progress to third grade. WillowWood studying is becoming more structured. Social studies, natural sciences are taught as separate courses, students participate in many study modules.

The Pod system allows students to access programming at a self-paced level. Children with an uneven learning profile can stay with their peers, access modules both above and below their age level (or both). The goal is to align the student's educational profile over time.
