Description

Advanced Placement (AP)

The Advanced Placement (AP) program provides for an in-depth, more sophisticated study of selected subjects at almost the university level. Students, as a rule, choose the disciplines for attending the AP according to their goals and preferences - the choice depends on what subjects they plan to study at the university (since the subjects marked in the certificate with the AP mark attract the attention of the admissions committee first of all) .

Items for study can be selected from the following list:

  • English literature and writing essays
  • Algebra and higher mathematics (BC and AB levels)
  • Theory of music
  • State management and US policy
  • European history
  • Microeconomics
  • Spanish
  • German
  • Algebra and trigonometry
  • Latin
  • Fizika
  • Biology
  • Macroeconomics
  • Chemistry
  • History of the USA
  • Statistics.

Also, senior high school graduates are offered a comprehensive STEM course: it includes the study of mathematics, engineering and natural sciences, technology and art.

The credit system is credit (credits are considered educational, or credit, units). To successfully complete the course and receive a diploma, students must earn at least 19 credits:

  • English (4)
  • Mathematics (3)
  • foreign language (3)
  • history and humanities (3)
  • natural sciences - chemistry, physics and biology (3)
  • fine arts (1) as an additional subject.

The curriculum is complemented by sports training, as well as creative electives at the student's choice.

The cost of schooling (including accommodation and meals at full board, as well as leisure and entertainment activities according to the program) is 53,030 $ for the academic year (26,515 $ per semester-half).
