Vancouver Film School - VFS provides everyone with the opportunity to complete a preparatory program in the field of acting (Acting Essentials). To enter the program it is not necessary to have an extensive acting experience and a creative portfolio - it is enough to be interested in the development of acting and art, a strong desire to express oneself and tell stories through performances. Acting Essentials is ideal for those who feel the need to expand their activities as an actor, for those who do not have a portfolio sufficient to directly enter the one-year course of VFS Acting for Film Television.
Studying lasts 4 months (2 semesters): classes begin several times a year, which allows applicants from different countries to enroll in the course at a convenient time. The program consists of a complex of disciplines and subjects, giving a large amount of knowledge and developing a variety of skills. Curriculum disciplines (modules) include:
- Actor play
- Vote
- Text analysis (film, television and theater script)
- Motion
- Improvisation
- Camera
- Listening
- "Voice experience"
- "Motion Experience"
- Professional laboratory.
All classes are conducted by highly qualified teachers, professionals in their field. Primary attention is paid to practice: students speak to each other and the public a lot, learn to properly use speech, behave naturally on stage and under the camera lens, quickly delve into the script and understand their tasks. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a certificate (Certificate in Acting Essentials) and can continue their education by enrolling in the VFS Acting for Film Television degree program.
Foundation Visual Art & Design

- Level of English: IELTS 6.0 (with indicators not lower than 5.5) / TOEFL iBT 68 / TOEFL PBT 520 / PTE - 52-57 / TOEIC - 700 / B2 First (formerly Cambridge English: First (FCE)) - Grade C / LPI - Level 4 / Duolingo - score of 50 - 60.

Vancouver Film School - VFS offers everyone the opportunity to complete an extensive preparatory program in visual art and design (Foundation Visual Art & Design), which leads to a diploma (Diploma in Foundation Visual Art + Design). The program is designed for anyone who wants to develop in these areas and build a successful and interesting career. Education lasts 12 months and is divided into 6 semesters: the start of studies is possible several times a year, which is very convenient for applicants from different countries. Participants choose one of the available specializations:
- Animation
- Movie
- Digital design.
The program includes a large number of disciplines: the first four semesters are attended by general modules, and starting from the fifth semester, subjects are studied by specialization. Students receive extensive knowledge and skills in the sciences studied, in the process of using the best and most modern equipment.
