Description

PROGRAM OF PREPARATION FOR THE BACHELORATE (Undegraduate Foundation).

1. Age of participants: from 17 years

2. Duration of the programs: 3 semesters

3. Beginning of classes: September, January

4. English language level for participation in the programs: IELTS 5.0 (minimum 4.5 in the Letter section)

5. Level of education: Diploma of graduation.

The program is designed for foreign students who plan to enter the department of undergraduate studies at Strathclyde University. The program is necessary in order to bring academic knowledge and English language skills in line with the Scottish (and British) education system. To enter the program you must have a high school diploma with good marks and a certain level of English (if the level is lower than necessary, you can go through special courses). The programs last 3 semesters and can begin in September or January.

Education is conducted in 2 major directions, each of which contains several specializations:

1. Business and Social Studies:

  • Business
  • Social studies

2. Engineering and Science:

  • Biomedicine
  • Physics
  • Chemical and Technological Engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Calculations
  • Electronic and electrotechnical, computer and electronic systems.

The body of disciplines studied by students includes:

  • Classes in English. The lessons are aimed at comprehensive education in language and related academic skills (academic writing, effective reading, listening and systematization of information, colloquial speech for a clear and accurate presentation of your thoughts and ideas)
  • The main modules. Several subjects that are mandatory for all specializations of one direction. This includes general disciplines that give a fundamental basis for the direction studied
  • Thematic modules. Here we study subjects that are devoted to the chosen specialization. Supplement the main modules and disclose the topics for the chosen specialization.

Programs are taught in such a way that students not only receive the necessary knowledge, but also adapt to the way of life in Britain and university life. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates have the opportunity to enroll in the second course of the chosen bachelor's degree in the profile direction.
