  • for 2-semester programs: March
  • for 3-semester programs: September, January

  • for 2-semester programs: IELTS 6.0 (minimum 5.5 for all partitions)

5. Level of education for participation in the programs: bachelor's degree.

Pre-master's educational programs are designed for foreign applicants who plan to enter the university's master's program. Programs last 2 or 3 semesters (the choice of duration depends on the level of the English language). For those applicants whose level is insufficient, special courses are conducted. The range of subjects studied includes mandatory modules (disciplines) and thematic modules. Mandatory modules reveal the fundamental foundations of the academic skills and abilities required in master's studies. This includes classes in the English academic language, modules for the development of academic skills, career and personal growth skills. Thematic modules are devoted to individual subjects according to the chosen specialization.

Pre-master programs are divided into 2 large sections, each of which has several directions:

1. Directions of the section Business, Social and Human Sciences:

  • Management (M)
  • Economy (Economics (E))
  • Information Studies (IS)
  • Society and Environment (S & E))
  • Right (Law (L))

2. Directions of the section Science and Engineering:

  • Science & Engineering (Science & Engineering (S & E))
  • Programming and statistics (Programming & Statistics (P & S))
  • Programming and Mathematics (Programming & Mathematics (P & M)).

The process of teaching on the programs of pre-master's degree fully corresponds to the general university style of education. Teachers pay great attention to each student, especially his professional preferences and qualities of the researcher. Lectures and seminars are held, students work independently, in groups and mini-groups. None of the difficult question for the student remains unexplained - thanks to a clearly established and professional feedback system, each student receives an answer to all of his questions. For regular monitoring of progress, students take exams and tests, coursework, extended essays and conduct case studies.

After the successful completion of the program, graduates enter the chosen specialty of the master's program at the University of Sheffield (for the first year).
