University Pathway in University of Rhode Island

Description
UNIVERSITY PATHWAY PROGRAM
A one-year educational course is an ideal option for international students who want to effectively improve the language and academic level of preparation before entering American universities.
During the year, the programs can earn up to 30 academic credits, which can then be taken into account when obtaining a bachelor's degree - in fact, the University Pathway program is considered to be equivalent to the first year of the university. In each classroom, up to 25 students are engaged, which makes the learning process more dynamic and intensive. There is an opportunity to take additional (including individual) classes in English or academic disciplines.
For foreign students, this course is also valuable in that it makes it possible to adapt to a new cultural, academic and linguistic environment, to adapt to life on campus and to US university requirements, to streamline their knowledge in accordance with national standards. Students will learn how to work effectively independently and in a team, to work with different sources, learn to create and present scientific works and research projects, to work faster and more productively in the library and with electronic data formats.
In addition, the preparatory course is aimed at actively raising the level of the English language, enabling you to prepare for the TOEFL exam (those who wish can pass it at the end of the course).
In total, three dates are offered throughout the year, when you can start learning:
- Spring: 1 semester = from 16 January to 12 May, 2 semester = from 22 May to 11 August
- Summer: 1 semester = from May 20 to August 11, 2 semester = from August 28 to December 22
- Autumn: 1 semester = August 28 - December 22, 2 semester = January to May.
