Description

PROGRAMS OF STUDYING ENGLISH LANGUAGE (English Courses).

1. Age of participants: from 17 years old

2. Duration: 1 or 2 courses

3. Start of classes:

for 2-semester programs: April
for the semester program: June, September.

Types of educational programs and English language level for participation:

1) Preparatory English courses for the International Foundation Year (ELP) program:

for a 2-semester program: IELTS 3.5 (minimum 3.5 in the Letter section)
for the semester program: IELTS 4.0 (minimum 4.0 in all sections)

2) Preparatory English courses for the International Year One (English Language Preparation (ELP)):

for the 2-semester program: IELTS 4.0 (minimum 4.0 in the Letter section)
for the semester program: IELTS 4.5 (at least 4.5 in the Letter section)

3) English for pre-master programs (English for Pre-Masters (EPM)):

for 2-semester programs: IELTS 4.5 (at least 4.5 in each section)
for the semester program: IELTS 5.0 (minimum 5.0 in each section).

Specially designed programs for studying English are intended for applicants entering the programs of preparation for undergraduate, international and pre-master programs. Programs include 25 hours of classes a week plus 10 hours for independent work, classes are built around the main sections of linguistics:

Grammar
Vocabulary
Speaking
Written speech
Listening
Development of academic skills.

Much attention during the education is given to the development of academic language skills (especially in pre-master courses). Students learn active reading skills and listening skills, and also intensively develop skills of correct and accurate presentation of their thoughts and ideas in written and oral form. Only highly qualified teachers work with students. Also during the program, students adapt to the lifestyle of the university and life in Britain. Upon successful completion of the program, students improve their language level and enter the selected educational program.
