Do not report the trip to the bank

Only a third of our compatriots notify the bank of a long trip before they leave Russia. The rest do not consider it necessary - and completely in vain: transactions on the card from another state can be considered suspicious, the bank can block such a card, and it is good if temporarily - there are banks where unlocking is possible only by reissuing the card.

In other cases, everything is solved by a phone call to the bank. But this is also not the most pleasant consequence, taking into account the fabulous prices for roaming calls. Notify the bank in advance!

Score on health insurance

69% of tourists from Russia ignore the persistent recommendations of tour operators and refuse health insurance services when going abroad. Others approach the problem formally only because it is required by the passport and visa center, or if the policy in one form or another is already included in the price of the voucher.

Such a saving of a couple of thousand rubles does not justify itself at all. Such insurance does not cost very much, and in comparison with the cost of hospitalization or even outpatient services in the United States and most European and tourist-attractive Asian countries, it is a mere trifle.

Believe me, if the situation does not develop in the best way and you still need the services of a doctor, you will have to overpay not two or three times, but dozens of times.

Do not study traditions

More than half of tourists ignore the persistent recommendation of guidebooks and experienced researchers of the globe: before the trip, get acquainted with the norms of social behavior, rules, traditions, rituals, features of the mentality of the place where you want to get. Such snobbery often provokes conflicts or can cause administrative fines, prosecution, or even imprisonment under the sentence of a harsh and merciless native court. And yes, prisons in popular southern countries are usually not sugar either.

Don't read hotel reviews

Reviews on popular booking services are completely ignored by every third traveler, and completely in vain. After all, it is the experience of previous guests that will help to find out the strengths or weaknesses of a particular hotel, as well as take advantage of some tricks that can brighten up the rest or make it less expensive and burdensome for the wallet.

Ignore baggage weights

Almost everyone, buying a ticket for an airliner, does not pay attention to the specified maximum permissible weight of baggage. At the airport, this causes numerous scenes, as a result of which angry and dissatisfied tourists are forced to weigh their luggage and pay for the excess.

By reading a couple of lines in a timely manner, you can save time, money and the most valuable resource - nerve cells. Which, as you know, are not subject to restoration.

Go in high season

The demand for certain tickets, vouchers and hotel rooms in resort towns or places where cultural and business life is in full swing, varies depending on seasonality. In September or August, the ticket price can be two or three times more than in winter or in the middle of summer.

A significant proportion of our compatriots do not plan their holidays in advance, but take tickets at the first opportunity. Often it so coincides that the cost of tickets and accommodation facilities during this period is maximum, on the beaches the palm of the hand is nowhere to stick between the bodies of vacationers, and the sights need to be taken by storm, literally walking on their heads.
