School description

The Juilliard School, founded in 1905, is a world leader in the performing arts. The mission of the school is to provide the highest level of art education for gifted musicians, dancers, actors from all over the world, so that they can fully realize their creative potential. Located at the Lincoln Center in New York, Juilliard School offers bachelor's, master's degrees in dance, drama (acting, drama), music (classical, jazz, historical performance, vocal).

Juilliard School is located just steps from renowned performing arts organizations such as the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center. And against the backdrop of New York, one of the cultural capitals of the world, students will have unlimited access to a large number of shows, concerts, and performances to help them explore and hone their skills.

The Creative Associates Program, a presidential initiative launched in 2018 by Damian Wetzel, brings to Juilliard an ever-growing group of artists whose work exemplifies collaborative, interdisciplinary innovation. Creative partners spend time at school, interact with the community, their colleagues from the creative community through workshops, speeches, coaching, panel discussions and other special projects.

  • Dance Bachelor of Fine Arts - A 4-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program teaches dancers in ballet, modern techniques. The program includes a course in the humanities. The dance department usually hosts 24 people per year;
  • Acting Bachelor of Fine Arts - A 4-year actor training program provides extensive training in acting, movement, voice, additional craft aspects, and a wide range of dramatic repertoire. The drama department usually accepts 18 students a year: 8-10 undergraduates and 8-10 undergraduates who will work on a four-year acting program together as a troupe;
  • Bachelor of Music - The 4-year Bachelor of Music (BM) degree provides extensive applied training, comprehensive instruction in music theory and history, and an introduction to the humanities.

  • Playwriting Artist Diploma - Leela Acheson Wallace's American Playwrights Program offers a one-year graduate scholarship. The Playwriting program is free, usually accepting 4-5 Fellows per year;
  • The Artist Diploma in Music is a 2-year Pre-Professional Artist Diploma (AD) program that accepts a number of gifted, accomplished Master's Degree performers who wish to pursue a focused study aimed at developing their artistry and professionalism;
  • Graduate Diploma in Music - Gifted musicians with a bachelor's degree or diploma but not applying for a Master of Music degree can apply for the Graduate Diploma program.

  • The Master of Fine Arts is a 4-year Master of Fine Arts (MFA) actor training program that provides intensive training in movement, voice, technique, and other major aspects of the craft and provides the opportunity to apply these skills to a diverse dramatic repertoire. The fourth and final year of study in acting is free for all international students and also includes a living scholarship.
  • Master of Music - A two-year Master of Music (MM) degree provides advanced music training, focuses on studio and ensemble work, complemented by academic course requirements, electives. MM is the qualifying degree for admission to most doctoral programs.
