Professional sewing courses will help improve professional sewing skills, knowledge of machines, design, technology. Elementary, intermediate, advanced courses are available:
During the course, students learn business secrets, step by step tactics of creating a brand from sample to seller: finding sources of financing, working with contractors, agents, planning exhibitions. The course is introductory for those who wish to declare themselves in the fashion industry.
Students develop a five-item capsule collection. Throughout the course, there is thorough practical work on five projects that students submit to their fellow students. The format, style of presentation are determined by each student.
The course is aimed at students who want to improve and develop their portfolio for submitting applications for secondary and higher education in the specialty “Art, fashion design” to the best specialized colleges and universities in the world. Students learn to apply elements and design principles to their work, study the design of a professional sketch, learn to visualize ideas on a blackboard, create sketches, draw technical drawings, sew or create 3D clothing, it is interesting to write about their work and create a professional portfolio.
The course on clothing design, illustration includes the development, illustration of a capsule collection of six models of clothing. Students learn to apply design principles, visualize ideas, make sketches, visually combine fabrics, color, shade, skin tone, create detailed illustrations of models. Students collect research data to create charts, create trade reports with visual images, edit in Microsoft Word, create a pop-up store layout, compile a list of expenses, price lists, lists in Microsoft Excel, learn to work with presentations, PDF documents.
The course includes the study of basic principles, methods of creating flat patterns, patterns of clothing. Students learn to make a template from scratch, prepare to create a template, their own design.
The goal of the 2nd level course is to learn how to make a basic bodice block, classic bodice styles, to create your own design for a blouse. Students study the following design elements: collar, types of zipper shirts, raglan sleeves, pockets.
The tasks of the 3rd course in developing patterns are to learn how to design classic styles of underwear, create your own sample of trousers, learn the details - top pocket, belt.
Students learn to develop classic details, styles, create a prototype of their design, make the necessary changes to the template. Students master the complex design elements of clothing, develops the pattern of their own clothing design. Instructors work individually, based on the level, preferred pace of the learner.
Students will get an idea of product development, they will understand what is needed for its implementation. The program includes: the study of each item of clothing, the role of the fashion industry, a review of domestic, foreign production. Students will get an idea of the production calendar, learn how to choose textiles, original fabrics, colors, create technical specifications.
The lexical course helps students build their personal vocabulary of terms, words from the world of fashion based on live communication during lessons (twice a week for 2 hours), by doing homework, interaction in the industry. Terminology includes the names of the components of clothing, fabrics, words from the world of fashion houses, technical wording.
Students acquire the skills of specific drapery methods, learn to drape the main blocks, drape their own projects, create a paper template, build the first prototype. This course requires basic sewing skills.
Students will learn how to create a design, develop a form of a dress with drapery, how to document the process from the initial sketch to the visualization of a 2D idea in 3D. Throughout the course, students study the draping of the sleeves, evading bias in the process, create six completed muslin structures, one design from the final fabric. This course requires a basic knowledge of sewing, drapery.
"Quilting for beginners" includes the creation of 25 quilted blocks, design, tailoring your own blankets. Students will learn how to create blocks, stitch, quilting. Muslin is included in the course price, sets of cloth for your own blanket can be purchased at The Cutting Room at wholesale prices.

Students will learn how to use the digitizer to digitize manually created templates, master various settings for creating patterns, learn how to create storage areas, develop models, create markers, and plot.
