Description

Summer Academic Camp at the University of Michigan & UCLA Summer School (University of Michigan & UCLA Combo)

  • Age of students: 14-18 years
  • Dates: June 30 - August 3.

The Summer Academic Camp at the University of Michigan & UCLA Summer School is a combined five-week graduate program at the University of Michigan and the University of California aimed at getting acquainted with the student life of universities, improving the skills of spoken and written English, as well as in-depth study of subjects chosen by the student area.

The program includes 3 components:

  • College courses
  • English courses
  • Academic intensives.

Studying college courses involves attending lectures and seminars lasting from an hour to three to five times a week. It also assumes homework, development of presentations and projects, passing final exams. The cost of summer school includes 1 college course - if a student wants to study them in greater numbers, you will need to pay extra $ 500 for each one. Examinations for this course are recognized and scored by most colleges and universities in the United States.

In conjunction with the American Language Center, the summer academy camp conducts 4 times a week English language courses. Each lesson lasts from one and a half to two hours and includes listening, testing, practice of speaking. At the end of the course, all graduates are given the mark "Surrendered" or "Not surrendered", a certificate of completion of study at the Summer School is issued .

Academic intensives are available at both universities: in California they are represented by the Anderson School of Management, in Michigan students can choose one of fifteen areas. Classes are held 4 or 5 times a week in the early morning and after lunch. Intensive examinations do not suggest, there are only marks "Surrendered" and "Not surrendered."

Since students take part in the combined program of the summer school of two universities, the choice of courses to study at them is very large and is represented by a list of more than thirty areas (including you can attend courses at the Academies of any of the two universities).

On the basis of the University of California, there are 9 Academies:

  • Online marketing and social media (advertising campaigns in social networks, developing strategies for promoting products and services through the Internet);
  • Writing scripts for the film industry and television (the study of basic concepts: the structure, formatting, disclosure of the nature of the characters, the construction of dialogues);
  • Building business in the field of entertainment, media and sports (finance, strategy, marketing, assessment of the economic situation, leadership, business ethics);
  • Acting for film and television (lectures, workshops, performances and playing dialogues with guest speakers and teachers);
  • Culinary arts, including baking (building a career in the culinary industry, all products are included in the cost of the summer school);
  • Social services (opportunity to earn from 40 to 45 hours of civil service);
  • Computer programming (basic programming skills in Python and JavaScript);
  • Leadership (development of leadership skills for entrepreneurs and athletes);
  • Hollywood Reporter (basic reporter storytelling).

On the basis of the University of Michigan there are 4 Academies:
