School description

The Stuart Hall School, the Stuart Hall School, is designed to teach students in middle and high school: boys and girls from 13 to 18 years old (both American subjects and foreign students) are accepted here. For more than 170 years the school has demonstrated the excellent quality of education, the professionalism of teachers, individual approach and care for each student, which earned an excellent reputation among students and educational specialists from around the world. They seek to educate a harmonious, comprehensively developed personality, successful both in academic sciences, and in sports, creative, social and psychological terms.

In 1844, the Virginia Female Institute was founded, which quickly became the leading state in its state and became famous for its traditions of classical humanities education. The name the school wears today arose and strengthened in 1907: the institution was named after Flora Cooke Stuart, the director of Flora, who ran the school from 1880 to 1899. It was Flora Cook Stewart who not only overcame the social and civil problems of the Civil War with her students and teachers, but she was able to even improve the quality and prestige of teaching at Stuart Hall School! In 1907 the school was expanded and modernized, and now the boys began to take courses. In 2003, the institution became part of the Diocese of the Church Schools of the Diocese of Virginia.

The episcopal character of the school affects its tolerance: students of any nationality and religion can learn here - they are treated with equal respect and warmth. The ratio of teachers to students is 1: 8. The academic results of the students clearly demonstrate the thoroughness and balance of the curricula, the qualifications and professionalism of the teachers: for example, the average score of the students in the SAT exam is 1720 (within 1470-1950) - this gives them the opportunity to enter 100% of the selected higher education institutions, including the most prestigious universities:
