School description

Shapwick Private School is located in the tranquil and scenic countryside of Somerset, near the coast. Shapwick specializes in supporting boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 19, whose developmental characteristics (dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia) negatively affect learning. A team of teachers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists work with small groups of 8 people and individually.

Being one of the first specialized schools for students with learning difficulties, the school is proud of the experience of its teachers in understanding the individual needs of students, helping them grow into confident, qualified, happy adults who are ready to move on to the next stage of their lives.

Permanent boarders live in school all the time, including weekends. Part-time students can go home for the weekend, visit friends on weekends. The school also offers options for daytime stays, the ability to spend the night on Shapwick grounds on selected nights.
