The two-semester program is designed to help students to develop their artistic vision, technical skills, and a large body of work for graduate studies.


School description

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the largest accredited independent art and design schools in the country, offering bachelor's, post-bachelor's and master's programs. The Chicago Institute of the Arts School is recognized by Columbia University as “the most influential art college in the United States,” a permanent spot in the US News and World Report's Best Graduate Fine Arts Programs in the country.

SAIC was founded in 1866 as the Chicago Design Academy. It offers to students a challenging education in studio art, exhibition opportunities. The school was converted to the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts in 1879, changed its name to the Art Institute of Chicago in 1882, and the museum and school moved to a building designed and built for the Columbia World Exhibition in 1893.
