Middle School - grades 6-8

The academic high school program consists of seven disciplines:

• English;
• Mathematics;
• Natural science;
• Social Studies;
• French;
• Physical Education;
• Art.

The art program offers a choice of four possible subjects:

• Fine arts;
• Drama;
• Music;
• Engineering and design.

The program begins in September with a trip to Charlottetown, where students are given the opportunity to test themselves in each of the four types of destinations in one of Canada’s richest cultural communities. This approach encourages students to unleash their creative potential, hone their skills, and consider long-term plans in the field of art. Each art course ends with an exhibition of works by high school students.

Rothesay Netherwood School adheres to the view that learning can take many forms and take place in any environment: a scientific excursion to Spy Glass Hill, a classroom recreation room or an annual educational trip (Disney, Dominican Republic, Quebec City) become a learning platform, apprehension different points of view, alternative ways of obtaining knowledge and their application.

Senior School - Grades 9-10

Students in grades 9-10 learn the Pre-IB curriculum to prepare them for the official IB Diploma program offered in grades 11-12. Education prepares students for independent learning, innovation, and confrontation with complex problems. Students explore various subjects, spheres of life, actively build their reading life, developing literacy and interest in fiction. Pupils take part in charity, the program of the Duke of Edinburgh, environmental projects. Education in grades 9-10 is built around four basic principles:

• Teamwork.

Quick overview: International students in grades 11-12 take part in the official IB Diploma program. Students have the opportunity to participate in various activities:

• Volunteering;
• Athletics;
• Art;
• Leadership;
• An inspirational academic program.

Pupils grow as pupils, as members of the local, international community.

The IB program continues to be at the forefront of school culture: it seeks to cover all aspects of modern education, emphasizes intercultural interaction, and teaches students intellectual curiosity.

The school supports future leaders: students have the opportunity to lead by example and are considered ambassadors of our school and what we represent. In the 12th grade, all students perform the duties of a prefect - this is a chance to take on the leading role of their choice, to solve managerial tasks.

In the summer academic school based on the Rothesay Netherwood School, students from 15 years old are offered an interesting, rich program Get Ready for Medicine. Studying biology, chemistry and medical sciences will help high school students who want to enter medical faculties and wish to prepare better, increase their chances of enrollment, and improve their knowledge of scientific terminology and academic English.
