Middle school in Repton School Dubai

Description
The curriculum at this stage is based on the general plan adopted for Britain and Wales, but it has a number of features for use in international schools. One of its main goals is to help students to prepare for the IB program. Every year all courses of subjects end with exams (except art and drama - exams are not provided for them). The general list of items is as follows:
- Technology and design
- Natural sciences
- Arabic language
- English
- Art (without examination)
- Physical culture
- ICTs
- History
- Mathematics
- The second foreign language (this can be a student's choice of Chinese, German, Spanish or French)
- Drama (without exam)
- Geography
- Music.
Before enrolling in the program, each student passes an introductory test. If it turns out that the level of English is not enough to fully absorb the curriculum, the student will be offered a supporting course for foreign students EAL. From the 7th to the 9th grade this course is included in the general school schedule, in the 10th and 11th grades it can replace the studying of the second foreign language, and 12-13 grades are intended for schoolchildren who plan to enter the universities of Britain.
There is also a special transitional program designed for pupils of 7-9 grade with insufficiently high language level. The essence of the course is a comprehensive study of the language along with a limited range of other disciplines (including mathematics and natural sciences) - and as soon as the language level becomes sufficient, the students join the general course of high school.
