At the heart of the Pioneer Academy middle school program is a training course aimed either at obtaining basic knowledge of mathematics and languages, or at studying disciplines from the field of scientific and social research. In order for the lessons to be held for children and teenagers as efficiently as possible, teachers use several techniques:
- Differentiated learning
- Multi-level lessons
- The use of modern technology
- Attraction of the outside world
- Daily assessment to check the understanding of the material and possible adjustments.
Another assessment method used at the secondary school stage to assess progress in math, reading, and science is testing the NWEA MAP. Such a computer test is carried out three times a year: at the beginning of the year (September 29 or 30), in the middle (February 23-27), and at the end (May 18-22).
