The Summer Course of Engineering (Introduction to Engineering)
- Age of students: 13-15 years
- Dates: 1-28 July.
The introductory summer course on engineering will give students 13-15 years of age a chance to understand the opportunities and varieties of engineering, some specialties, their role in this field and prospects for further studying and career. Working in a team on projects, students will also develop leadership skills and ability to work in a group, master the skills of successful presentations, improve oratory qualities. The program of the course includes the following topics and directions:
- Civil engineering
- Building engineering
- Mechanical engineering
- Elementary theories - physics, mathematics
- Production concepts: environmental protection and sustainable production
- Safety in mechanics and structural engineering
- Electromechanics, electrical engineering and circuit theory
- "Logic, mathematics, informatics" - effective interaction of sciences
- Biomedical engineering
- Chemical engineering
- Design skills
- The analysis of modern problems of engineering, and the search for ways to solve them.
Classes include up to 15 people (morning and afternoon practical); the intensity of the lessons starts from 20 hours weekly (up to 40!) + minimum 2 themed tours + master classes, lectures and seminars with invited specialists and speakers. Teachers practice an individual approach and, if necessary, can quickly adjust the educational course in order to increase its effectiveness for each student. At the end of the course, students will also receive a solemn ceremony of awarding, handing out personal certificates indicating personal achievements and successes.
