Australia Day (January 26)
In CIS we appreciate the various cultures and their contributions to the global community. On January 26, we celebrated Australia Day. Read what our student from Australia thinks about this: "Australia Day means for me a respectful attitude to the wonderful, amazing country where I come from, and also what I remember and recognize the Australian aborigines. I am grateful to the whole school community, and also to the chefs, thanks to whom I was able to spend such a great day with elfish bread, Lamington, ANZAC cookies and hot for dinner. I'm glad that everyone liked the food, and also that it was interesting to everyone to see the repeat of the AFL games, which were shown in the background.
Chinese New Year (February 2)
On Tuesday, February 2, the student council organized a celebration of the Chinese New Year. The students were able to learn interesting facts about the Spring Festival. Yvetta, our student from China, taught students and employeesCIS the basics of the Chinese language. The evening ended with an excellent dinner with special Chinese dishes and conversations behind it.
Winter sports programs
Since January 14, at the top of the Ore Mountains, which are only 20 minutes from CIS , the Winter Sports Program is being implemented. On weekends, our students, regardless of their level of preparation, can improve their skiing and snowboarding skills under the guidance of professional instructors.
Slalom race ISSAP
Students CIS Was honored to take part in the 10th annual slalom race of the Sports Association of International Schools in Prague (ISSAP), which was held by the Russian College of Prague.
Presentation for Czech elementary schools (11 January)
Our students helped elementary school students decide which school to choose and also better understand their potential. On 11 January, three students CIS discussed the differences between secondary and primary school education in one of the local schools. During these lessons, more than 50 students were given the opportunity to test their knowledge of the English language, as well as learn more about the programIB Diploma . Here are the most popular questions: Where are you from? Why did you come to study in Karlovy Vary? How many lessons do you have per day? Also asked many other questions.
