Description

The secondary school program at the Academy fully meets the requirements of the Ministry of Education in Canada and Ontario. For successful completion of the course, each student must earn at least 30 educational credits (18 units must be enrolled in mandatory courses) - this entitles you to receive a valuable Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSD). In addition to the certificate, each graduate of a high school receives 6 pre-university credits, which he can present upon admission to universities or colleges (application centers QUAC and OCAS respectively). For foreign students, the requirements are slightly more loyal - they need to earn up to 24 credits to successfully complete the course.

So, in order to obtain a certificate in total, you will need:

  • Earn 30 educational loans: 18 for compulsory subjects and 12 for optional
  • Successfully pass the English language test (grade 10)
  • Collect at least 40 hours of community service.

The list of compulsory, general subjects includes the following:

  • English language (4 units)
  • Foreign language (most often French, 1 unit)
  • Mathematics (3 credits)
  • Scientific courses (2 credits)
  • History of Canada (1 credit)
  • Geography of Canada (1 credit)
  • Art (1 unit)
  • Physical education, sports and health (1 unit)
  • Fundamentals of the state (0.5 credit)
