Description

The program International Year One (Undergraduate accelerator)

1. Age of participants: from 17 years

2. Duration of the programs: 2 semesters (9 months), 3 semesters (12 months)

3. Classes start: January, May, August

4. Level of English:

  • Integrated Program (Integrated Accelerator Program): IELTS 6.5 (indicators in all sections not below 6.0), TOEFL 79, Pearson's Test of English 59
  • The academic program (Academic Accelerator Program): IELTS 5.5 (indicators in all sections no lower than 5.0), TOEFL 68, Pearson's Test of English 46
  • Extended Accelerator Program: IELTS 5.0 (indicators in all sections no lower than 4.5), TOEFL 60, Pearson's Test of English 40

5. Educational level: certificate of secondary (complete) general education

6. Language of instruction: English.

The university has special courses for foreign students, designed to help adapt to the education system and the requirements of the university. The programs last 2 or 3 semesters, and begin in January, May or August. There are three different types:

  • Integrated Accelerator Program (2 semesters)
  • Academic Accelerator Program (2 semesters)
  • Extended program (Extended Accelerator Program) (3 semesters).

The education combines classes in academic disciplines, adaptation and development courses and additional support on a variety of issues. Each program includes three areas, of which the student chooses the most preferable:

  • Humanities and Social Science
  • Science and engineering science
  • Business and economics.

Eduaction is characterized by a number of features:

  • Flexibility of the course. With the academic model adopted in the US, students can vary their priorities, study what is really interesting. The choice makes the learning process more meaningful and interesting
  • Individual guidance. Personal consultants help students with every step of the learning process at all levels
  • Personal support. New students receive support on all issues, both academic and personal (and also in such matters as transfer from the airport, opening a bank account, purchasing and registering a SIM card)
  • Small class sizes, individual attention and support
  • Involvement in American cultural experience. Special seminars "Living, learning, growing" develop social, professional and academic qualities and help students adapt to life in the United States. Students take part in various events that help interpenetrate cultures and traditions
  • Development of career skills. In the process, great attention is paid to developing skills that students are called upon to help in the difficult process of choosing the future profession and type of activity and building a successful career. Students receive exhaustive recommendations on CV preparation, interviewing and other aspects of employment. Career education helps students overcome fear of finding a job and realize themselves professionally.

Participants in academic and advanced programs are intensively learning English, the integrated program is designed for students with a high level of English and does not include individual language classes. All students develop active language skills, such as: university teaching skills, research and proper use of terms, clear and clear written and oral presentation skills. Moreover, all pupils are accustomed to using language not only in school, but also in everyday life.

Successful passing of the program is equated with the first year of undergraduate studies (students also receive loans for items). Graduates continue their studies, moving to the second course of the chosen specialty from the list of available.

Integrated program (Integrated Accelerator Program) (2 semesters).

The course is designed for students who have a high level of English and deep knowledge of the disciplines. Two semesters are continuing and includes academic, cultural and professional support, as well as an advanced component of counseling and mentoring. Students have priority access to exclusive subjects. Features of the integrated program:

  • Priority access to the selection of courses, the list of which is compiled by an academic adviser in accordance with the interests and career goals of each student
  • International learning environment
  • Extended eduaction for a career
  • The possibility of teaching programming.

Depending on the choice of bachelor's specialty, students choose one of the three areas of the integrated program:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and Information Science
  • Business, finance and economics.

Academic program (Academic Accelerator Program).

A standard course of study, which includes, in addition to academic disciplines and professional support, classes in English. Education lasts 2 semesters, in each semester loans are earned. Students are actively engaged in the development of the English language, the study of academic disciplines, and receive all the necessary assistance and advice. The course includes three areas, each student chooses a priority:

  • The humanities, social sciences
  • Science and Engineering (including Technology and Informatics)
  • Business and economics.

Special 3-semester course for students who need extensive education in English. Students intensively study the language and the body of disciplines, adapt to the education system and the way of life in the country. Education has three different directions, the student chooses for himself the priority:

  • Humanities and Social Science
  • Engineering and Science
  • Business and economics.

Tuition fee on the International Year One programs is:
