Description

The International Year One Program

  • Age of participants: 17 years
  • Duration of the programs: 1, 2 or 3 semesters
  • Beginning of classes: January, August
  • Level of education: diploma of secondary school
  • Knowledge of English: for 3-semester programs - TOEFL iBT 50 / IELTS 5.0 / PTEA 41+; for 2-semester programs - TOEFL iBT 60 / IELTS 5.5 / PTEA 44; for semester programs - TOEFL iBT 80 / IELTS 6.5 / PTEA 53
  • Language of instruction: English
  • Participants: foreign citizens.

International Year One is a special program for foreign participants, through which you can pass the course of adaptation, get the necessary academic knowledge and go to the bachelor's degree. Applicants must have a diploma of high school and have proficiency in English (special language courses are also available at the university). Studying lasts from 1 to 3 semesters, the required duration of participation depends on the level of English. There are 5 directions in total:

  • Science
  • Engineering, Computing, and Statistics
  • Human and Social Development
  • Humanities and Social Sciences.

During the program, students study a number of academic disciplines, are actively engaged in the development of English language skills and master the methods of research activity in relation to the American educational system and university education. Students of 2 and 3-semester courses receive a large number of hours of language classes and improve their level of language to bring it in line with the requirements of the undergraduate. All students receive assistance and support from teachers, staff and mentors for all emerging educational, personal and personal issues. Also, students receive advice on employment and career development, which in the future helps them navigate the labour market, understand its laws and be able to build a long-term strategy for career development.

After the successful completion of the course, students move to the next semester of the chosen bachelor's specialty and continue their studies as ordinary students.
