Primary school in International School of Milan

Description
Program Elementary School (Elementary School)
The International Baccalaureate Primary Years program at the International School of Milan is an interdisciplinary curriculum with a broad conceptual approach to teaching and learning. This standard is applied in a large number of schools in more than 100 countries. The student and the learning community are at the center of teaching and learning. Thanks to the implementation of the IB curriculum, the primary school strives to build a cultural understanding and an international community of young like-minded people. During the school year, student research is guided by conceptual ideas that are associated with six transdisciplinary themes of global significance. Bridges between subject disciplines are encouraged and developed to create transferable knowledge, understanding and skills. PYP has five main elements:
1) Action. Children should understand that the learning process is a valuable experience aimed at building an intellectual level that can not go away from action and service. Children learn to reflect, to make meaningful choices, to act together with their peers, teachers.
2) Attitudes. Along with the current profile of the student (Learner Profile), educators seek to develop and strengthen a set of approaches that are modeled and discussed during research. Twelve learning approaches give pupils the necessary foundation to be successful students throughout their lives.
3) Key Concepts. Perfect thinking through a unit of research helps children to view topics and problems with the help of various lenses. PYP is built around eight key concepts that are used in all subject areas:
4) Knowledge. The curriculum is based on PYP programs, ongoing research and the needs of the school community. At the beginning of each unit, parents receive a Newsletter that sets out the goals of the unit and explains how parents can support their child to help them in their studies. There are clear tools and evaluation strategies.
5) Skills. In addition to teaching the skills of specific subjects, there are many transdisciplinary skills that students develop, overcoming subject areas and not limiting themselves to one subject. These approaches to training are developed in all divisions.
All teachers and employees have an exceptional level of education and are trained to teach science in accordance with the international baccalaureate standard. Small class sizes and individual support help children solve all emerging issues and receive advice on any topic. Due to the exceptional quality of education and high professionalism, the pupils of the school receive a high overall level of development and knowledge. In addition to lessons, students have the opportunity to spend some time in school after class, doing homework under supervision and with the help of teachers.
The development system includes:
1) Thinking skills:
2) Research skills:
3) Communication skills:
4) Self-management skills:
5) Social skills:
The PYP coordinator sends PYP Curriculum updates to parents and holds regular meetings and seminars to support parents in their understanding of the unique features of PYP. In the elementary school, the curriculum will include important elements of the Italian State Curriculum (Italian State Curriculum) - the components of the Italian Scuola Elementare program are integrated into the international baccalaureate. This is done so that Italian students (and anyone else) can take the elementary school exams according to the national standard (Licenza di Quinta Elementare Exam). Students from other countries do not take these exams without desire or necessity.
Thanks to the exceptional quality of the education provided, primary school pupils receive a high level of knowledge and skills and easily pass to the next level.
