Description
Middle Years Program
In the middle classes of the International School of Milan, the Middle Years Program is conducted, which is the next step in the continuous standard of international baccalaureate education (IB). MYP is built on the fundamentals acquired in the primary school, encouraging learners to be independent, a global world understanding and the ability to learn throughout life. Schoolchildren receive a rich curriculum that is comprehensive and complex and aims at creating a solid foundation in subject areas, as well as in several foreign languages. Skills develop along with knowledge, and students become thoughtful, creative and valuable members of the international and Italian communities. Teachers have exceptionally high qualifications and experience, help adolescents in solving problems of any complexity.
Some elements of the Italian state curriculum in the Scuola Media Program standard are embedded in the education system: this is done so that Italian students can take the necessary courses in the internal school curriculum and take the National State Exams. Foreign students studying at the International School of Milan may not take Italian exams if they do not have this need or need. The MYP curriculum is organized around eight traditional subject areas:
Each week, 35 lessons of 50 minutes plus 2 hours for individual training, enrichment or visits to the library, in some subjects special double lessons are held. Students can stay after class and do homework under the supervision of teachers. The high level of training and the exceptional quality of the provided programs determine the success of the pupils. Students go to high school, having a large supply of knowledge and skills, and easily choose the directions for which they want to develop.
