Senior classes (english) in Groton Private School
Brief information: In the 10th to 12th grade, each student must determine for themselves a minimum of 5 top-priority subject courses. The successful completion of a school is the earning of a certain number of educational credits, or credit units: they must be at least 45 in the aggregate of all subjects.
Usually students choose up to 6 courses per semester; Most of the subjects last 1 academic year (2 semesters) and gives the opportunity to earn up to 3 credits. For a short course (semester), you can earn 1 credit on one subject.
The list of available specialties for selection is very wide:
- English literature;
- Modern foreign language as a second language;
- Natural sciences (chemistry, biology, physics);
- Classic languages (Greek, Latin);
- Modern foreign language;
- History of the USA;
- Mathematics + trigonometry.
Some specialties can be studied at a more complex, in-depth level of AP (Advanced Placement) - for example, calculus, US history, English. This is an excellent opportunity for students who plan to enter universities and higher education (in the US it is not mandatory).
