Description

Preparatory program

A special preparatory course helps pupils (especially foreign students) to improve their English level in a short time, to prepare for training on the IGCSE / IB / A-level programs.

The duration of the program is determined individually - depending on the level of the English language and the preparation of the student, it can be 1-4 semimester. Note that even a successful course is not counted as an academic year - but you will be able to earn educational credits (credit units), which can then be counted on the main chosen program.

The curriculum is primarily aimed at the integrated, general development of all language skills:

  • Grammar
  • Reading
  • Auditing (listening comprehension)
  • Vocabulary (active expansion of vocabulary)
  • Written speech
  • Oral speech (spoken English)
  • Phonetics (correct pronunciation, accent correction)
  • Improve communication skills.

In addition, students are also engaged in thematic subject programs, and they have the right to attend the same sections, electives and events as students of the main streams. The curriculum includes the following subjects and research areas:

  • Preparing for the exam in English
  • Sport and physical education
  • English and Grammar
  • Mathematics
  • Communication skills
  • Science (exact, natural, humanitarian).

The requirements for incoming students depend on the program, to the place they are applying for:

1) Preparatory program:

  • finished grade 8 at least (points from C and above - or equivalent) - than "older" the program on which you subsequently plan to study, the higher the requirements
  • Certificate of English: IELTS 4.5, EF testing from 40/70. The higher your level of English, the less your education will take (the duration of the course can be 1-4 terms) and the faster you will be able to begin the basic educational course.

The cost of education and the date of enrollment, filing of documents you can check with your manager.

The item successfully passed by the students at the final exams of the 11th class, qualifies for IGCSE.

IB Diploma

The universal course of the International Baccalaureate is simultaneously the completion of the program of complete secondary education, and effective, comprehensive preparation for entering the best universities, active development of academic skills. The program provides a large number of practical tasks: all students will be able to hone their knowledge and skills on a huge number of design, research works and practical examples, classes in scientific laboratories.

The duration of the course is 2 academic years (6 trimesters): regular monitoring and verification works, intermediate and final examinations are provided. Each student selects 6 disciplines for an individual curriculum - for convenience they are divided into thematic subject groups:

1) Primary language (or mother tongue): English, Russian, Spanish, German, Chinese (usually Mandarin), Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Norwegian, Portuguese

2) Foreign language: Spanish, French, English as a foreign language, German, Chinese

3) Social sciences, humanities: psychology, economics, geography, IT-technologies, philosophy, history, business and management

4) Natural sciences: physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, society and the outside world

5) Mathematics and exact sciences: mathematics, higher mathematics, mathematical analysis

6) Art: theater and drama, fine arts, music, cinema.

In addition, students attend classes in three compulsory disciplines, allowing you to check and perfect your knowledge in practice:

  • CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) - volunteer and charitable, creative and sports activities, disclosing the potential of each student
  • Writing an extended essay - creating an in-depth study on the selected topic (chosen independently and consistent with the teacher) and writing an academic essay (volume from 4000 words)
  • General theory of knowledge (TOK) - students will learn to understand the world in various ways, master different types of knowledge and will be able to successfully apply these skills in practice.

The skills of critical and analytical thinking are actively developed, the ability to work in a group and independently, the skill of preparation and presentation of research projects are all those skills without which effective teaching is impossible in a modern advanced university.

Upon successful completion of the program, students can receive one of 2 educational documents:

  • IB Diploma: successful passing examinations in all selected subjects and 3 compulsory subjects, maximum score on exams - 45
  • IB Certificate: a more loyal and flexible version of the program, usually offered to American students. Exams can be taken only for selected subjects and do not take final tests in 3 additional disciplines, and instead focus on effective preparation for the IELTS, TOEFL, SAT or ACT exams.
