ENGLISH + ENTERTAINMENT (SPRING)

  • Age of students: 8-17 years
  • Duration of the program: 1-2 weeks (arrivals - Sunday / Saturday, departures - Friday / Saturday)
  • Minimum requirements: Beginner level (basic).

An interesting and fascinating combined course is designed for pupils of 8-17 years old, who are resting during the spring (Easter) holidays.

The intensity of the studying is 20 lessons per week: all children are divided into groups according to age - 8-12 and 13-17 years. Academic and extra-curricular program is divided into two blocks during the day:

  • In the morning: reading of original texts, written speech, spoken English, developing listening skills, grammar, vocabulary, phonetics (correct pronunciation and correction of accent)
  • Afternoon hours - leisure and entertainment events, helping to consolidate the knowledge gained in the class, to develop leadership skills, communication and speech abilities.

Academic program can be supplemented with English lessons - in mini-groups (2-5 people) or individually.

The extracurricular program includes a variety of activities on the campus, and exciting excursions (a minimum of 2 trips per week), and classes in creative clubs and sports sections - it is a matter for everyone!

INTENSIVE ENGLISH

  • Age of students: 13-17 years
  • Duration of the program: 2-4 or 6 weeks (arrivals and departures on Saturdays / Sundays)
  • Minimum requirements: Intermediate level (medium and higher).

An intensive program is designed for students aged 13-17 with a sufficiently high level of English (from intermediate), who want to improve their knowledge and skills in a short time.

A total of 22 English language lessons are prepared for the students in a week, which are dedicated to the development of all the basic, key language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking, phonetics (correct pronunciation + accent correction), grammar, vocabulary. In addition to the course of general English students, fascinating lectures and seminars are waiting for a variety of topics - it can be:

  • Pre-trip preparation (preparation for future trips and excursions)
  • In the News (discussion of current news in the media)
  • Debate (various discussions on these topics)
  • UNESCO (discussion and debate on the themes of UNESCO - from pollution to the struggle for women's rights)
  • Project time (team or individual project and its presentation: it can be a radio podcast, news block, short film)
  • Extended Writing (development of academic writing skills - essays, research papers, etc.)
  • Critical thinking (development of the critical thinking skill)
  • Advanced reading comprehension (analysis of popular news publications and the media - Vogue, The Economist, NME, The Times - and discussions on the topics raised).

Before the beginning of the classes, all students undergo initial testing, which distributes them into groups according to the level of knowledge, and at the end of studying they are waiting for the final testing, which will reveal academic progress. If desired, students can supplement the course with English lessons: individually or in mini-groups (2-5 people).

PREPARATION FOR ACHIEVEMENT AT THE UNIVERSITY

  • Age of students: 16-17 years
  • Duration of the program: 2 weeks (arrivals and departures on Saturdays / Sundays)
  • Minimum requirements: Upper-Intermediate level (above average).

A special summer preparatory course is designed for students planning to pursue higher education at universities in the UK. The program is designed for 2 weeks and is intended for students aged 16-17 (senior classes).

The intensity of studying is 22 hours weekly. The program includes a variety of thematic sessions on all aspects of university admission, the development of academic and language skills:

  • Visiting universities of Oxford, Cambridge and a number of other
  • Essay writing on an academic topic
  • Essay writing technique
  • Familiarity with the procedure for admission to Oxbridge
  • Choosing the right university and course in the UK
  • Preparation for the IELTS exam
  • Creating a video resume
  • Development of critical thinking skills
  • Development of research skills
  • Development of public speaking skills
  • A guide to writing a cover letter or participating in a UNESCO debate
  • Technique of record keeping / notes.

Classes are conducted in the first and second half of the day - if desired, the program can be combined with other courses of the summer school. Students can also take an IELTS exam for an additional fee.

MINI-MBA

  • Age of students: 15-17 years
  • Duration of the program: 2 weeks (arrivals and departures on Saturdays / Sundays)
  • Minimum requirements: Upper-Intermediate level (above average).

Thematic program is designed for high school students (15-17 years) with a confident knowledge of English (from Upper-Intermediate and above), interested in business, finance and commerce.

There are 22 thematic classes in a week for small groups of 12 people each. All lessons are devoted to a certain topic:

  • Introduction to management (22 hours)
  • Marketing (12 hours)
  • Entrepreneurship (4 hours)
  • Accounting (4 hours)
  • Types of business organization (4 hours).

In addition, special thematic excursions for the students are provided in this course - for example, a visit to the Bank of England, the rise to The Shard, the tallest building in Europe.

The program can be combined with other summer school courses if desired.
