An interior designer is, by definition a person who identifies, researches, and solves problems pertaining to the function and quality of interiors. Their work includes programming, design analysis, as well as specifying and designing all aspects of interior spaces. Using specialized knowledge of interior construction, building codes, materials, lighting, and furnishings, interior designers prepare drawings and documents in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. You’re not the only person who has a knack for re-imagining the look of a room, and office, or even an entire building interior. For you though, it goes much deeper. You think about how a space connects to the people who use it—and to the environment. The Interior Design program at Spokane Falls Community College offers a broad–based and professionally relevant curriculum designed to enable graduates to successfully compete for jobs and to work as residential interior designers. The curriculum is composed of both science and art –which enables our graduates to blend creativity with technical elements for a successful foundation of industry skills. Students who enter the program have two degree options: Associate in Applied Science –Interior Design (AAS) or Associate in Applied Science–Interior Design Transfer (AAST) degree. Students may complete an Associate in Applied Science degree (AAS) in six quarters with an emphasis in residential interior design, and a broad understanding of interior design as a profession. Graduates are qualified to obtain employment within the industry of residential design and construction. Graduates of the program have gone on to work with specialized kitchen and bathroom designers, residential contractors, residential design retail showrooms and suppliers, large–scale residential casework manufacturers, and many have entered the real estate market as investors, realtors, home stagers, and house flippers!
he La Roche College Interior Design Program believes that a successful interior design education enhances a student's innate creativity and interest in the built environment. An interior design education also effectively teaches the knowledge and skills needed to evolve holistic, thoughtfully conceived design solutions in response to humanity's aesthetic, emotional, and utilitarian design needs. The program's mission is to prepare students to perform as design professionals with a life-long desire to remain current in the profession and be advocates for design excellence, thereby promoting the importance of interior design to society. This major prepares students for careers in commercial and residential interior design in large and small interior design and architecture firms, as well as industrial, commercial and institutional organizations. It also provides a solid foundation for students who wish to own a design firm or pursue a graduate degree in design. The interior design program fosters the transition to the professional world by requiring all majors to complete an internship experience in the field prior to graduation. Entering interior design majors are required to purchase a laptop computer with software that is commonly used in the profession. The interior design program offers a four-year professional degree program in interior design accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation. Students receive a bachelor of science in interior design, which is the first step in preparation for taking the NCIDQ exam and membership in professional organizations. Practical studio experience builds competencies in fundamental design, materials, finishes, lighting, computer-aided design, historical interiors, professional practice, interior construction, space planning, programming, and communication skills. Most students also take field study in interior design to acquire work experience before graduation. The program requires students to maintain a minimum grade point average to continue in the program. Graduates obtain employment in architectural and design firms, corporations, and institutions as interior designers, space planners, and in other related design positions.

The LCI network began its history of LaSalle College Montreal in 1959. And the University of LCI Barcelona appeared in 2013, when the network entered into an agreement with the Graduate School of Fashion Felicidad Duce, which is now one of the educational departments of the university. Today LCI Barcelona graduates are ready professionals who can work in the field of design, having an original approach and having in their arsenal a global view of things.
At the University of Barcelona, young people can receive the first higher education (bachelor's degree) in fashion and design, the second higher and even the academic degree (magistracy or graduate school), and also take an educational course in the summer or complete a small educational course in a particular profession. The majority of programs are taught in the native language of the country - Spanish, some also duplicated in English and French.
