The degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is awarded in recognition of independent research conducted as part of the program of study and completed in the allotted time. The student must demonstrate the ability to correlate the results of the study with the general body of knowledge on the subject. The assessment is based on the final dissertation and the results of the oral exam "living voice".

In collaboration with the University of Bolton, Amity offers doctoral programs for research in business administration and information technology.
