The program is designed for quality, effective preparation of foreign students for study in American and world universities: the emphasis is on preparing for training at the University of Vermont, but students can choose their own educational institution.
In each version, which is represented in the university, there are three training blocks:
1) Academic English (it helps foreign students to achieve the language level required for studying at a foreign university)
2) in-depth study of core subjects
3) special integration courses aimed at adapting students to the new environment.
In the process of training, each student prepares courses for educational credits (credit units), and with due diligence after the completion of the program, he can apply immediately for 2 courses. If the student has obtained the average number of credits, but successfully passed the IELTS language test (from 6.5 points) or his alternative, the enrollment for 1 course of the university will also happen almost automatically.
In the preparatory center there are the following options:
1) Foundation 2 periods (8 months)
For admission, you need to know English no lower than 6.0 points on the IELTS scale or equivalent. The classes start in May, August and January.
2) Foundation 3 periods (9 months)
Students with an English language level of 5.5 on the IELTS scale (or with the equivalent exam results) are accepted. Beginning of classes takes place in August. During the first period, students focus on active and super-intensive learning of the English language, the remaining two stages repeat the standard, classic version of the Foundation.
The state-of-the-art American school, the Leman Manhattan Preparatory School, located in the heart of New York City, offers education to children from 3 years of age. Until 2011, only the Preparatory School program was taught here. Today, LMPS is part of the international organization Meritas. A full range of educational services is offered here. The school is rightfully proud of the level of academic preparation of its students. The first graduates of the educational institution in 2013 entered the most prestigious universities in Pennsylvania, Washington, and other regions.
The absence of a hundred-year history behind the shoulders gives the school an advantage over other boarding schools. It is flexible, the speed of reaction to innovation. Academic traditions do not deter it - it is actively developing, which significantly affects the quality of education, making it not just fundamental, but practical, which is especially important in today's dynamic world.
Peculiarities of academic training in Lehman Manhattan School are due to several factors. The first and main is membership in Meritas. The school uses educational technologies, adopted in the network of educational institutions, starting with a personal plan for students and ending with the tools of vocational guidance. The second factor is the orientation toward high-tech education. At school, students are available a variety of special programs: computer graphics courses, digital video, others. Technological education is confirmed by the material capabilities of the educational institution: here are easily accessible laptops, multimedia projectors, interactive whiteboards, various means of communication.
