Education in Czech schools up to grade 9 is compulsory for all citizens (junior high school education) - it can be obtained in gymnasiums, narodni skola and zakladni skola. Children begin their education after reaching the age of 6: the initial stage lasts 5 years, and another 4 years - the average. After receiving an incomplete secondary education, you can continue to study (the most popular option for schoolchildren), or begin to work.
Secondary education in Czech schools can also be obtained in English - this format is possible in British and American schools under the IB (International Baccalaureate) program. For Russian children, schoolchildren, teenagers and foreign students, it is possible to enter the international program from 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 years to different levels of training, respectively. Admission with Smapsefree .
Complete secondary education (after grade 9) is provided by several types of educational institutions:
This is a harmonious combination of academic studies and professional programs that give students initial, fundamental knowledge about various fields of professional activity.
Here pupils can spend 4 or 6 years, depending on the chosen curriculum - gymnasiums are accepted by pupils after 5,7 or 9 classes of the general high school. At the end of the course each student receives subject and language examinations. With the test results, you can submit documents to the selected institution - as a rule, 2/3 of the students go to universities immediately and without any problems, since the level of study, depth and breadth of knowledge obtained in the gymnasium is sufficient for successful university education.
They receive schoolchildren who plan work or training in a technical college: the training lasts 4 years and ends with a profile exam for maturity.
Here pupils are trained for 2.4 or 5 years: graduates can pass a useful industrial practice (if trained in a theoretical training program). Students who have completed a full course of study and successfully passed final exams can start working.Note that the evaluation system is significantly different from the usual Russian one: thus, rating 1 means "excellent", but 5 - "unsatisfactory". The beginning of the school year is customary at the beginning of September, and the end of the year is at the end of June. The specialization of a particular school determines the whole set of subjects studied, but there are also regularities here. Mandatory for all is mathematics, the Czech language and national literature, and as an additional one you can prefer biology, a foreign language, chemistry or physics.
